Lasse's Locost

I have build my own sports kit car, I had no experience in carbuilding. But I bought the book "Build Your own sports car for as little as £250" by Ron Champion and it seem to be quite simple. Well, 2 years and 2 days and I'm finaly done!

Here it is, my scarry shark ;o)

Ok, I live in Sweden so I started  with easy to find parts, yes volvo. Volvo is a car with "heavy" parts but they are reliable. Well, in the end I don't think the car will have so many volvo parts anyway.

I started on the space-frame chassis the summer1999. I have not much welding experence but the chassis was easy to make, it took 10 days and the inspiration was on top.

Parts on the car, so far:

Rear axel: Volvo 145
Front hub and upright: Volvo 145
Bottom swiwel joints: Volvo 145
Top swivel: From a "hardware store"
Shock absorbers : AVO shocks
Steering rack: Ford escort
Steering column : Saab99
Handbrake: Nissan
Fuel tank: A boat tank  25 liter
Nose cone and mudguards: Peter Lilja
Brake stuff: Volvo 145
Engine: Alfa Romeo 1750 Berlina
