The Engine fit
We raised the rear end on the ramps because the video says
its best to have the rear higher than the front during an engine
fit, well what a waste of time! We struggled along for a while!..
And then we started again and removed the ramps.
It was a much better angle to put the engine in having the car
sitting on all 4 wheels. It was very tight and we nearly resorted
to removing the crankshaft pulley, but in the end we managed
by pushing the engine over to the left hand side and it just
squeezed in.

The Saga of the Engine Hoist
At first we decided to build our own Hoist, when it came to
it we decided that it would take up too much precious "build
time" so we thought about renting one. The first tool hire
place we called wanted £45 for a weekend hire.
We then looked into buying one. We tried "Portland Tools"
in Lincoln and they had a 1 ton engine hoist for £139 inc,
so for just over 3 weekends worth of hire charges we could actually
own one!
As we have the Granada sitting there and this will require the
engine removal at some point and then if we decide to work on
this engine and then fit it to the RH, we will have saved money
by buying rather than renting.
So if anyone wants to borrow a spanking new hoist for £10
a weekend let me know.
I'm not so sure we should put this on the costings page because
it could quite easily be used for other things such as our Mondeo
should it play up anymore, but I will anyway.
