The Fury is amongst the finest examples of a worthwhile kit car. Employing very simple, cheap and easily available Ford donor components, allied to a well designed and manufactured chassis, providing well thought out and located suspension assemblies results in a true sportscar with formidable handling and road prowess. As if this was not enough, universal affordability and many race championship, sprint, hillclimb and endurance rally wins have earned the Fury a highly respected reputation. The Fury is an extremely easy car to build. A typical build will take around 250 hours, excluding the reconditioning of donor parts. The Fury Spyder takes even less time: typically 150 hours. The basis of the design is a very light but rigid steel tube chassis. All ends are sealed and to give greater strength in the central section, additional sheet metal is welded to form the footwells. All suspension mounting points are pre-drilled and the chassis structure includes brackets for mounting the fuel tank, steering column, radiator, handbrake and harnesses. Aluminium panels are provided in the kit to be drilled and rivetted to form the sides, rear and floor of the driver and passenger compartments. A roll over bar formed from cold drawn seamless tube with bracing struts is included and a diagonal section can be added for additional strength if required. |

The Fury offers two suspension options: The LIVE AXLE version uses the Ford Escort rear axle located using two trailing links in conjunction with a Panhard rod. Spax coil over shock absorbers are used to give good ride comfort combined with excellent handling and grip. The IRS version uses the Ford Sierra rear hub assembly in conjunction with purpose built hub carriers forming the uprights between upper and lower wishbones. Once again, Spax coil over shock absorbers ensure a refined ride quality and excellent traction for more powerful engines. There are two styles of body available. The standard FURY has doors and a windscreen and the FURY SPYDER comes without doors, has a simple wind deflector and wider rear wheel arches. The one piece, forward hinging bonnet provides excellent access to the engine bay and is available is two styles: the 'Classic' and the 'Le Mans'. |
