D-Day December 17th 2001.

After waiting for what seemed like an age for my Kit to be ready, today is the day that I go to pick up the pieces, so to speak.
Hired a Luton Van as recommended by Tiger (Mercedes Sprint also suitable).

My brother (seen at the wheel) came down to Reading from Manchester to help me collect the Kit. He has already built a very hairy GT40 . Everything fits into the Luton (including donor, purchased from Tiger.

Problems with the Hire Vehicle meant the trip to Wisbech took several hours longer than anticipated. The van started running on 3 cylinders. Finally got back home and loaded bits into garage. I now realise how small my garage really is!

Day one trip to Wisbech to collect the kit and donor   
December 18th (day2)
Basically took stock of all the bits and pieces. Some of the donor bits seem very tired. I wonder why I hadn't noticed this when I was picking the kit up?
Won't know the condition of the engine until its stripped
Car Type: Lotus Seven Style, Two seat sports car
Chassis Type: 25mm 16 gauge tubular steel - fully triangulated space frame
Body Type: GRP (glass reinforced polymer and aluminium
Engine Options: Ford Pinto 8 valve displacing 2.2 litres with fast cam and fully worked cylinder head producing in the region of 170bhp and fully mapped electronic ignition.
Twin Weber 45 DCOE carburettors Aluminium sump and bell housing
Gearbox: 5-speed Ford Type 9
Front Suspension: Standard Ford Sierra hubs and callipers with modified leg. Standard Ford Sierra track control arms. Top rocker arms and lower suspension arms with inboard adjustable Spax coil-over dampers
Rear Suspension:
Ford Sierra rear beam, complete with differential and driveshafts.
Brakes: Front - Ventilated discs
Rear ­ Sierra drums and pressure compensating valve
